Standing room only at Newcastle anti-incineration meeting
NEWCASTLE — Durham is fast moving toward an “out-of-date, 20th-century solution to a 21st-century problem” as it presses forward with its proposed incinerator, says a member of the group which fought against an energy-from-waste facility proposed for but never built in Halton.
Group protests change in Clarington incinerator stance
CLARINGTON — A handful of protestors gathered outside the Clarington municipal building this morning, opposed to the municipality being a willing host for an incinerator.
Clarington councillors will debate a motion Monday night that reverses its previous position that it’s an unwilling host for an incinerator.
